If your web server is not in the list of already tested servers, it has to meet the following requirements to successfully run ActiveHTML:
  • Your web server must support CGI-Interface Version 1.1
  • Your web server should be able to run cgi programs based on extension of the requested document. If your web server supports filemapping, you have to map *.asp and *.asa files to AHTML.EXE.
  • Your web server should be able to manage directory aliases or virtual folders
  • To use AHTML.SwitchUser, your web server should run as a system service. If not, you have to permit the user executing the web server to act as part of the operating system. You may want to use SRVANY (part of the Windows NT/2000 resource kit) to enable your web server to run as a system service.

Access requirements:

  • You must be a member of the local administrator group on the machine you want to install ActiveHTML

¹) It is likely that you already have the Visual Basic 6.0 Runtime installed on your computers. It will be automatically installed when you install the current Windows NT service pack, Microsoft Internet Explorer and many other programs
