SL-Message: Technical Information

Network communication:

SL-Message uses no special network protocol (like TCP/IP, Netbeui). It works with every protocol that provides a compatible Netbios interface. It uses Named Pipes and Mailslots to communicate between workstations and programs.

Security:

SL-Message uses the standard Windows NT/2000 - security mechanism. You don't have to set special user privileges to use SL-Message

Parts of SL-Message:

SL-Message contains four components. Not every component must be installed on every computer, e.g. normally you don't need to install SL-PopUp on a server without interactive users.

SL-Send:

Dispatch messages and scriptcommands, Remote-Taskmanager, ...

SL-Listen:

Receive messages

Remote-Taskmanager client component

Synchronize system time

Message routing

SL-PopUp:

Display messages

Execute scriptcommands

SL-CSend:

Unattended dispatch of messages (from command line)
