SL-Message is able to receive messages, which are sent while the computer
was switched off, at next startup. To use this feature you have to set some
registry values.
Every computer that should
synchronize have to know, from which computer it should receive lost
messages (SyncSource). This computer
should be a machine that runs 7x24 hours (e.g. network server) to be sure
that it receives all messages.
In WAN networks this should be a machine in
the same local network to reduce WAN network load.
Under the hood
The client sends a message to it's SyncSource at startup. This
message contains information about the last message the client has received
yet. The SyncSource looks in it's database to see whether there are newer
messages and sends the newer messages to the requesting client.
This is
made with a point to point connections, no broadcast will be sent, except if
you specify "*" as SyncSource.
